Retired Public Employees Council of WA Working to protect and enhance the pension and health care benefits of Washington retired state, county and local government employees
A resolution was brought forth by Chapters 12 (Tacoma area) and Chapter 2 (Olympia area) seeking a day to honor women who had bravely served in the military. It was passed by the Executive Board on November 15, 2021, was sent to the Legislature. That resolution was gratefully undertaken by Senators Emily Randall (26th) and T’wina Nobles (28th).
Today the Senate heard the resolution, SR 8653, and adopted June 12th to honor Women Veterans. The resolution can be heard beginning @ 8:10 in the video here.
