I’m repeating this message because I think I lost an earlier one before I posted it. I’m asking if RPEC is endorsing or opposing Ballot Measure 2066. It is not listed in the website. I’m curious because I heard a legislator at an RPEC meeting who endorsed 2066 because he implied that everyone with a Natural Gas furnace would have to pay to replace it. Later I researched 2066 and learned that its advocates are misleading voters with that fear. Instead current law “guarantees people can have natural gas if they want it.” Personally, I’m in favor of reducing fuels that increase CO2 and I’m very happy with my heat pump system (it uses small amounts of electricity). I but I feel that voters could be misled as to the intent of the current law and would vote for passage of 2066. Thanks for your help.
Dorian, At this time, the RPEC Executive Board has not taken a position on I-2066, nor did our convention body at our recent convention this past September.
