If you have traditional Medicare and live in Washington state, you need to attend this webinar!

This webinar will educate attendees on the impacts of the WISeR (Wasteful and Inappropriate Service Reduction) Pilot Model being introduced by CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) and how it affects those with traditional Medicare. The WISer Pilot Model, implemented on January 1, 2026, will require prior authorization for several procedures for Washington state Medicare beneficiaries. This is a six-year pilot program affecting only 6 states and can have a significant impact on your health care.

Please join us on Monday, March 23rd at 10:00 AM!

What is the Medicare Wiser program?

Government definition from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS): The Wasteful and Inappropriate Service Reduction (WISeR) Model helps protect American taxpayers by leveraging enhanced technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), along with human clinical review, to ensure timely and appropriate Medicare payment for select items and services.

During the webinar, we will:

  • Break down what the WISeR Program is and how it functions
  • Discuss how medical review processes may be handled
  • Outline what retirees should watch for
  • Share steps you can take to stay prepared and informed
  • Provide time for questions and discussion

Healthcare decisions are too important to navigate without clear information. Whether you’ve already heard about WISeR or are just learning about it, this webinar will help you better understand what’s ahead and how to protect your access to care. There will be more information available on WISeR moving forward on the Healthcare Resources page.

We strongly encourage retirees to attend and share this information with others who may be impacted.
