Early Predictions for the 2027 Social Security COLA

Two early estimates for the 2027 Social Security Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) have been released, from CNBC and The Senior Citizens League with both pointing to modest increases. Rising gas prices could play a significant role in the final number, which will be revealed later this year.

The official COLA is announced by the Social Security Administration in mid-October, with updated benefit amounts taking effect in January the following year.
