2025 RPEC End of Session Report
Thanks!
Thank you Mr. VanSpoor for the report.
The Legislature once again kicked the can down the road for COLAs for PERS1 and TERS 1 retirees. These are stall tactics to study the proposals to death. In the meantime for retirees within these systems there is no making up the 40-50% purchasing power lost. We frankly have been betrayed for our dedicated service.
When there were COLA provisions within these system they were removed primarily by the Republican causus. I don’t recall any proposals from these same folks cutting their 3% per year of service retirement calculations.
Thank you again Council members and retirees for keeping up the good fight as I will continue to do.
