RPEC has successfully secured a bill from the Select Committee on Pension Policy (SCPP) that will be heading to the Legislature when they convene in January. If you recall, part of last year’s successful ad-hoc COLA bill included language that stated the SCPP would study a pathway towards a permanent on-going COLA for Plan 1 benefit recipients. That language was inserted by RPEC! The SCPP and the Office of the State Actuary (OSA) completed that study and the OSA presented draft bill language to the SCPP for consideration.
At November’s SCPP meeting, the Committee unanimously passed the draft bill out…
Thank you for your support. I wish I knew all of the figures to work out just how much money I have been denied that, as a state employee, I earned since the negative action in 2011. How many thousands could have helped me keep the life style I had worked for in retirement. I worked at EWU when I first became a union member. Positions from President to Sargent at Arms and also the winningest steward on campus. Bad supervisors think they can do what ever they want. The union protected the members. Now we need the help of legislators like yourself, to help us over this hill. Your work is so appreciated.
