RPEC LEGISLATIVE DAY!
Plan to attend and to have members from your chapter also attend!
WHEN: Tuesday, March 7, 2017 (Reception) & Wednesday, March 8, 2017 (Legislative Day)
WHERE: Red Lion Hotel, 2300 Evergreen Park Dr SW, Olympia
WHY: To communicate in a loud, united voice that we will fight to protect and improve our retirement benefits!
Big Changes! To move our legislative priorities forward, we need a LARGER VOICE! Therefore, we will be teaming up with Washington Education Association Retired (WEA-R) for Legislative Day 2017. Their issues are the same as ours including reminding lawmakers that public pensions are a promise that benefits our state’s economy, and that we oppose the creation of a Plan 4 (which would undermine ALL CURRENT PLANS), and want the legislature to restore the Plan 1 COLA and the PEBB Medicare Benefit.
Due to the continued growth of participation, we have moved both the reception and Legislative Day to the Red Lion Hotel. For details please see the enclosed registration form. We will have two buses, one of which is handicap accessible, transporting members to and from the Capitol.
While RPEC will cover all the expense for the hotels, mileage, food at the event, and buses, we are asking Chapters to send in a $25 per person registration fee. With no convention expenses for 2017, we appreciate the support of the Chapters to make this Legislative Day a success.
