Below is a list of Labor Day events that we have been made aware of. RPEC Members are encouraged to attend to enjoy food, fun, and solidarity with their fellow workers and retirees.
Ralph Chaplain Memorial, Hosted by the Pierce County Labor Council
Time: 10:30 AM- 11:30 AM
Place: Calvary Cemetery, 7220 S. Mullen Street, Tacoma 98409
Details: Join the Labor Community as we mark the life of one of Tacoma’s Labor notables in this annual observance! Those assembled will tell stories about how Ralph came to live and work in Tacoma, his achievements and his legacy.
Songs will be sung (feel welcome to bring your instruments) and this year we may even have a new display of Ralph’s art and poetry!
Bring seating if you will find standing for 90 minutes on uneven ground uncomfortable.
Many of us will car pool over to the Labor Day Picnic after our observance has concluded.
Pierce County CLC Labor Day Picnic
Time: 11:30 AM- 5:00 PM
Place: Ft. Steilacoom Park – Picnic Pavilion, 9200 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, 98498
Details: Mouth-watering Barbecue Menu expertly prepared and served by outstanding volunteers from WFSE 793. Come hungry ~ there’ll be plenty of tempting picnic fare to fill your plate!
- Children’s games and prizes.
- Visits from local elected officials and Labor-endorsed candidates
- Table displays sponsored by Local Unions and community organizations
- Families can enjoy the kids’ play area, sports fields, and dog park
Cowlitz-Wahkiakum CLC & SW Washington CLC Labor Day Picnic
Time: 11:00 AM- 3:00 PM
Place: Hayden Park, 253 Kalama River Road, Kalama
Details: An old fashioned UNION Labor Day event for your Family & our Community. Food, local politics, kids games!
NW Washington CLC Labor Day Picnic
Time: 12:00 PM- 4:00 PM
Place: Riverfront Park, 901 Riverfront Road, Sedro Wooley
Details: Music, Burger, Chicken, Salmon provided. Bring a dish to share!
Snohomish & Island County CLC Labor Day March & Block Party
March Time: Ceremony & March Begins at 11:00 AM
Place: Everett Workers Memorial (at Pacific & Wetmore) Road, Everett
Party Time: 11:30 AM, Block Party
Place: Everett Labor Temple, 2810 Lombard Street, Everett
Spokane Regional Labor Council & NW Idaho CLC Labor Day Celebration
Time: 10:00 AM- 4:00 PM
Place: Q’Emlin Park, 12201 W Parkway Dr, Post Falls, ID 83854
Details: Car Show & Poker Run begin at 10:00 AM. Food & Drink are provided, beginning at 11:00 AM. Note: City of Post Falls charges $5 for parking.
Thurston-Lewis-Mason CLC Labor Day Picnic
Time: 11:00 AM- 4:00 PM
Place: Washington Park, 100 South Pearl Street, Centralia
Details: Bring your family, friends and neighbors and celebrate Labor’s contributions to our community. There will be games for the kids and food, all provided by the Labor Council and Affiliates. This is a free event for our communities.
